Chatham Street

Chatham Street performing at your home?  Yes!

A private concert by Chatham Street, in the comfort of your own home, for you and your invited friends...

If this sounds appealing, consider booking Chatham Street for a house concert.

House concerts give the opportunity to really connect with the artist, see a performance up close, and maybe even request a song. As the host, you get to create the atmosphere you want and can invite as many guests as you'd like (depending on the size of your living room!)  Or, how about a concert on your patio or deck in the summer?

House concerts are really taking off across the country and, in many cases, are becoming the premier and often preferred venue for singer/songwriters, who love to sing and talk about the stories behind the songs in an intimate setting.

If you like the sound of hosting a house concert but have never done it before, here are a few of the basics:

House concerts are usually…

* held indoors and on Thursdays to Sundays
* attended by 20-75 people
* paid for by a $10-20 donation per guest (for the performer)
* known to include light snacks, beverages, or a pot-luck dinner before or after the music
* attended by the host’s friends, neighbors, co-workers, and maybe a few fans of the artist
* performed with little to no amplification
* very intimate - the audiences sit close and are attentive
* performed in 2, 40-minute sets with a 20 minute break

Although house concerts generally adhere to most of these traditions, there is no rule on how a house concert must go. Each house concert is a collaboration between the artist, the host/presenter, and their friends and supporters, and are open to any design and format.
